When and where is Long Course Weekend Belgium?
Long Course Weekend Belgium takes place from 26 – 28 September 2024 in and around Nieuwpoort.
What distances are there for each event?
We offer the possibility to enter different distances within different disciplines: Swim: 1,9 km, 3,8 km Bike: 45km, 90 km and 180 km Run: 5 km, 10 km, 21,1 km, 42,2 km Long Course: 3.8 km Swim, 180 km Bike, 42.2 km Run
Is there a kids event?
Yes there is! Long Course Weekend Kinder gives children to opportunity to get a taste of the sport as well. There is also a kidsrun on Sunday.
How do I know for sure that I am registered?
You should receive a confirmation email; don’t forget to check your spam where it might end up in case you can’t find the email. If you're not certain you have received the confirmation email, if you cannot find it, send us an email at [email protected].
Can I register for someone else?
You are NOT permitted to register for another athlete. For safety & security reasons you must register yourself and bring photo identification so that we can guarantee we are giving the right event number & timing chip to the correct athlete. This avoids mix ups with announcements, emergency contact information on the reverse of the race number, finisherpix, and timing. You can register your child for the kidsrun on sunday.
When can I expect the event pack?
Absolutely everything you need to know about the Long Course Weekend will be communicated a few weeks before the event via e-mail, with a full race pack available to download up to 4 weeks prior to the event. This will include event timings, registration details and important information. It is important to carefully read through this information as details may be different to those on the website. We recommend using the online Event Pack as a guide, which is in "real time" and updated right up to the event start. An email will also be sent to the address you registered with, notifying you of any final details and possible amendments that arise.
When will I receive my timingchip and BIB number?
These must be collected at the time of registration upon showing photo ID.
Do I have to participate all three days?
Long Course Weekend offers a series of races over the course of 3 days. You can enter for just 1 discipline, multiple disciplines or the entire Long Course Weekend. Totally up to you!
When will we receive all the practical information?
Around September 16th you will receive an email with all the information and practical details about your registration.
Is a wetsuit mandatory?
This will depend on the temperature of the water on the day. If possible, you can swim without a wetsuit.
Until when can I register?
The closing date for online registration is September 15th, 2024. After that you can still register on site at the athlete reception desk. There will be an additional cost of €10 here.
Do you get a medal for each distance?
Yes, for each distance you will receive a medal at the finish.
What are the cut-off times?
- 3800m: 2h15
- 1900m: 1h40
Can I rent a wetsuit for The Nieuwpoort Swim?
Yes, you can rent a wetsuit here through our partner Peaks.
Can I have ticket/cancellation protection for The Nieuwpoort Swim?
Yes, you can! Cancellation protection is provided via a third party and covers various reasons like illness, injury, family emergencies, and more. You'll receive a 100% refund if you're unable to attend for any covered reason. The price for this protection may vary depending on the race(s) you choose.
